I worked with students in k-8. We spent two days going out on fieldtrips. The days were Wednesdays and Fridays. Fridays we went to the YMCA and swam to work with coordination and muscle tone for about an hour and a half. We also used the gymnastics room and worked on coordination and walking. The other day we would rotate going to the library and looking at books and have story read to them. The other Wednesdays we would either go to a restaurant, walmart shopping, or to other local businesses. We spent alot on self care- brushing teeth, washing hands, combing hair. We also practice dressing using dressup clothes. Buttons and zippers can be hard. If you want anymore ideas just stop by my website or im me on yahoo messenger. Hope this helped some.:p

Sounds to me like somebody speaks the truth. You're not a teacher. You are a poser, and I bet you get paid to teach...
I hope you learn something. SOON.

here, I'll prove I'm a teacher by teaching you that the difference between your and you're.

In YOUR title, you said, "YOUR not a teacher" when in fact, you should have said "YOU'RE not a teacher". YOU'RE is a contraction for YOU ARE

And since YOUR statement was trying to say "YOU ARE not a teacher", the appropriate word should have been YOU'RE.

There, I taught you something. Give me my tenure. :p

Mr.Choc-full-of-crap,
Let's say your child was mentally challenged, severe or otherwise. Would you like it if her education consisted of popping in a Disney movie as curriculum? God forbid that anything would happen to your child or future children that would require them to have this type of curriculum. Then I bet you wouldn't be so bitter and uncaring. You have no idea, Mr. Chocolate.. No idea at all.......

if a kid is severely disabled, forcing them to do trigonometry is out of the question. So why do parents of severely disabled kids insist that their child be in a mainstream classroom?

Choc-full-of-crap,
Where does it indicate that the original post was written by a parent whose child is mainstreamed?????????The question dealt with seeking a curriculum. What were you doing in elementary school when reading comprehension was being taught? OOOps, don't answer that......seems you just interpret text however it suits YOU.
