I am currently studying to become a certified Special Ed Teacher. One of my assignments is to take a core curriculum (I chose 3rd grade math) and narrow it down to "Power Standards" -- the bare essentials of what should be taught. My criteria is also for teaching Mild/Moderate.
HOW do I do such a thing? I've found the Utah State Curriculum but it's ALL such a subjective assignment, i.e.: I don't think teaching the metric system is ESSENTIAL.
Any ideas? I would appreciate ANY suggestions!
Thanks in advance! This is the first time I've posted. If available, send me direct e-mails; regardless, I'll check back here often!
