Shouldn't your textbook have this?

Also, it's pretty simple: just think of everything in terms of one conversion factor. For example, to convert 12 inches to metres, use 1 in = 2.54 cm, and you get (12 in)(2.54 cm/1 in)(1 m/100 cm) = 0.3048 m.
