God I hate math! I flunked my first test after studying for half the weekend. The guy that teaches math is a drone. I try to get help from him after school and he is out the door before most of the students. My parents are getting pissed at me because they don’t think I’m trying. I’d like to hook up with a really cheap online tutor to help me with my homework a couple or three nights a week. Is something like that possible? Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

Jon.

I live in a small town in Maine near Acadia national park. During the fall I was struggling with biology and hired a tutor from a company called tutorswithoutlimits.com. The tutor was terrific. In fact it has worked so well for me, that I still work with Sarah (that’s my tutors name) whenever I need help with any homework subject including math.

There is a new product in Public Beta Test for math. It's free for now.

http://www.socratictutor.com/

It covers:

Order of Operations
Fractions Addition & Subtraction and Multiplication & Division
Conversions: Percentages <=> Fractions <=> Decimals
Algebraic Equations
Percentage: Word Problems
Percent Change
Rates
Radicals
Absolute Value
Inequalities
Pythagorean Theorem & Midpoint
Linear Equations
Number, Age, Coin, Mixture and Work Problems.
Quadratics Factoring & max/min

It allows you to actually go step-by-step through problems when you don't understand them providing you a complete description of how it transitions a complex problem to simpler form. Then as you do the problems successfully they get harder. Just like having a tutor that works at your pace.
