I am attending the TEACCH winter inservice 2007 workshop month. If anyone out there has ever been involved with the TEACCH program tell me about your thoughts on the program. I also have some behaviors in my classroom that I could use some advice on. I have a child who has just started being very disruptive in class throwing things and knocking things in the floor. I am not sure how to best handle the situation.

TEACH is pure nonsense. The districts love their TEACH programs....less money then quality ABA programs.
The fact of the matter is, little kids with autism should not be in a SDC preschool. They require intensive one on one ABA services, provided in their home and then generalized to a regular ed preschool.
Their is no research to support TEACH or SDC's in preschool, but there is quite a bit of reserach to prove that they are ineffective.
ABA on the other hand, is backed by years of peer reviewed research which has now been replicated.
If you have behaviors in your class, my advise would be to get an ABA program for those kids.
