I am the parent of an 8 year old. She is currently in the third grade and has done fairly well in school up until this point. I have always thought that maybe she is dyslexic but I am not sure what types of test to ask her physician or anyone to perform on her so that we can find out if she is. Can anyone help me with this or am I in the wrong place.

Your school psychologist and student support counselor are great resources. They will be able to direct you to any type of test that needs to be given. Afterwards, they should be able to inform you of the resources that your school district has available for your child's needs. I hope this helps!

Also ask your child's teacher what their perception is, they know you're kid very well also, especially as this issue may/may not be impacting the classroom learning!
