knowledge objective: What the student is expected to know at the end of the lesson.
skill objective: What the student is expected to be able to do at the end of the lesson.
For example: a lesson can have a knowledge objective of the conservation of momentum. That is, students would expect to know what it is and be able to analyze its meaning. A student can also have a knowledge objective of being able to apply the conservation of momentum to solve problems involving collisions.

Sorry, I meant to say that the last example was a skill objective, not a knowledge objective. It should read:
For example: a lesson can have a knowledge objective of the conservation of momentum. That is, students would expect to know what it is and be able to analyze its meaning. A student can also have a skill objective of being able to apply the conservation of momentum to solve problems involving collisions.
Every lesson, by the way, should feature both skill and knowledge objectives.
