We need to learn about urban and suburban communities in grade 2. I thought that if we received a postcard from different schools across the country describing the community they lived in, my students would truly benefit. I would love to have every state represented!
I will send a postcard back to anyone that sends us a postcard. ~We live in upstate New York (Adirondack Park). If you are interested contact me at: cfreder3@nycap.rr.com Thanks!:o

People interested in beginning a post card exchange remember to email me. at cfreder3@nycap.rr.com with your school's address information. I'll email you back with our school's address. Next, I'll keep the information and give it to anyone who joins.
That way we can all get a postcard from each state. We can try to get all 50 states! You don't have to be a 2nd grade class like me, any K-12 age group is fine... The only thing you need is to send me your information so that I can share it with the others in our exchange.
Your obligation: to send out a postcard telling a little bit about where you live and your class to each person on the list, that way no one is left out. If your class is able to write a nice postcard you could have them do it (but please read them over:o ) and then you wouldn't be writing 50 postcards by yourself. Buy the cards that show a nice picture of where you live and give your students a writing assignment with the topic above. I have 2nd graders so I will probably be doing the writing. Sound fun? Email me and we'll get going. It will be a neat project to share with our students as postcards arrive during the year. Thanks!
