Wanted Grade 2 Pen Pals!!!

I teach at a rural school in New York State. As part of our state standards, we need to learn about people who live in rural, urban and suburban places within the US.

I think it would be neat for my students to have pen pals (snail mail so that they can practice letter writing) from urban and suburban areas.

I have 18 2nd grade students in Chula Vista, CA (suburb of San Diego). Some are english language learners. Let me know if you think it would be a good match.

It sounds like a good match. I will have 20 students this year. When would you want to start? I know that we start school next week. It may take the students some time before I get them writing full letters. Should we start soon with something very basic or wait awhile and get into the school year?
