I'm looking for a lesson plan that I seem to have lost - it is for a density column lab using salt concentrations in water. It requires the students to use the balance to measure mass, to use the grad cylinder to measure liquids, 5 baby food jars and food coloring, and teaches pipetting techniques, (and patience) since they have to carefully pour the liquids down the side of the graduated cylinder. I think it was in a Merrill? (blue cover) physical science lab book, but I have lost it and we don't have that textbook any more. Anyone have it?
I know the procedure and set-up, etc, but don't remember the concentrations (amounts of salt they must weigh for each jar) and the ones I've tried don't quite work as well. I don't have time to re-invent it and can't find an old copy of the lab manual. I would be grateful to anyone who can help me out - it's a great lab.
