View Full Version : Composing music with technology
Hi,
I am new in the USA. I started teaching music in middle school and I would like to know if someone knows if music teachers use the computer lab to teach the kids to compose working directly on software.
Is this common practice? Is it rarely done? Any comments are welcomed.
Thanks
Andrea

Our music teachers do so. They have software that helps the kids create MIDI files. They save them oon school site and classmates critique them.
Thank you.
Do you know which software they use?

there is a great program that i use for composing music. it is called Sibelius, and if you buy the full version, you pay, like, 600 dollars, but there is a free download on sibelius.com. and if anyone reads this, youy can go to my sibelius site and post reply's about my music at sibeliusmusic.com/kamiccanail, and if that doesn't work, you can go to sibeliusmusic.com and search for Robert Wulff. i play clarinet, and i write my own music. hope you don't mind that i am a student at Leslie High School in Michigan, responding to a teacher web post, but i hope this helps.
