I am a seventh grade teacher of English with 100 students of all ability levels. I'm interested in getting a penpal group for the children that would span the entire school year. We previously had penpals in Turkey, but that ended when the teacher left the school. Penpals from any location (US/foreign) would be great!

Hi there,
My name’s Marilda and I teach English for teenagers in a public school in Uberlândia, Brazil. I also taught English for six months in Thailand in 2004. In our school in Uberlândia/ Brazil we have a pen-pal project with English teachers from foreign countries and their students. Through this project, students from one of our classes correspond with students from other teacher’s classes in foreign countries. Every two months we sent each other a package full of letters, pictures, postcards, folders and souvenirs from our city, state and country. We strongly believe that through this our students are not only learning English, but also making new friends and exchanging cultural experiences. We do it through regular mail, because it is much more exciting to the students to manipulate the mail in class. Opening the package and reading its contents often generates class discussions which we found very enriching. We already have teacher partners in Thailand, Slovenia, Ukraine and England, but as we have many students interested in the project we are seeking for new teacher partners. So if you would like to join us or happens to know someone who does please contact me at: Maluriul@aim.com or Marildariul@hotmail.com
PS: If you happen to have any other project in your school that you’d like to share with us, we’d love to hear it. ;-)

I am an elementary school teacher from Northbridge, Massachusetts. My partner & I are teaching an enrichment class to students in grades 2 - 4 about the US Postal system. This class will be held the first week of June. We would like to have as part of our class a mapping, graphing and tracking activity of how long it takes for a letter to be received in different parts of the US. I was hoping we could add your school to our activity.

What we would like to do:
1. Mail a letter to your school
2. Receive an email from you the day it arrives so we may track its delivery time (my email is lclark@nps.org)
3. Ask you to send the envelope back in the enclosed self-addressed-stamped-envelope (so we can see the postal tracings). If you could include your school's website address in the envelope, we will visit your schools website upon receipt of the letter.
4. Our students will send a letter back to you thanking you for your participation the week of our class

If this activity were something you would be able to participate in .... Fabulous!!! All I need is a reply to this email with the mailing address of your school.

Thank you in advance for helping with this interesting school activity.

Educationally Yours,

Linn Clark

Hi Heidi
my name is Lisa Jagoe, I'm 12 but very mature, (or so I've been told!)
I live with my parents and older brother (Carl he's 15-16) the whole family is very tall, (e.g I am about a head taller that most 12 year olds)
I'm home educated (so I don't belong to a school) and I'd love to be a pen-pal with someone from Germany, (my mother's parents are both German, and they want me to go over and spend 3 weeks with them next year, I am learning German, and I feel it would be easier if I had someone to write to that's German, I also would love to write in English so which ever you prefer, I don't mind)
I don't mind if my pen-pal is a girl or a boy,
I love reading, horse riding (but basically love all animals), and meeting my best friend (Michy), talking to Michy, writing, dancing, I'm also a fan of the Harry Potter books and movies, and the lord of the rings books and movies, I also just finished Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice
my ideal would be to correspond with a pen-pal via email, here is my email address: lisajagoe@gmail.com if you have any students interested (or if you write back) could they write to my email address instead of responding to this? because I don't check my account at all...

Thanks,[/COLOR]
Lisa Jagoe

Hello Mr. John Tumwebaze,

I'm an 8th grade teacher with students from ages 12-15. I have more than 100 students and I would like to begin a penapl system with children of other countries so that my students can learn about other cultures. Since you have more than I do I can tell my students to choose two of your students to write to so that they all receive a letter! I would prefer we use snail mail (regular mail) rather than online penpals.

Greetings all!It was nice finding this message board. I'm a High School Biology teacher in a "very" rural school in Eastern Kenya. I also happen to be a computer and internet enthusiast and I try to show my students how to use the Internet. I'd be interested to establish some partnership with other schools and teachers all over the world. This would greatly enhance my students knowledge of the world. My email is smutolo@gmail.com and my students are between 13-17 years of age. English is the medium of instruction. Thanking you all and looking forward to hearing from you. Steve

I teach 12 students in English language arts. The students are in 2nd and 3rd grade and they're 8-10 year old. We are located in Shanghai, China. The students are fluent and for the most part returning Chinese (born in Singapore, Canada, America, Australia etc).

We would love to set a pen pal exchange program with another school anywhere else in the world. Electronically or via handwritten letters, both options are fine.

Please contact me via ellamona@gmail.com if interested.

Thank you,

Ella Mona

Hey ,it andrew
from africa i would like u tsobe with a partner

FRIENDSHIP is like a needle of a clock.
Though we r in same clock, we r not able 2 meet.
Even if we meet, itz only 4 few seconds.
But we always stay connected.

Is there anybody wanting to start a partnership with a school in Germany? Our students are between 12 and 16 and learn English as a foreign language. We would appreciate a long-lasting penpalship. We also have contacts with Russia, and it has been working for 26 years!
We will answer everyone.
