I am a special education teacher who will be working with mild/moderate students in the first and second grades for the first time. Does anyone have any suggestions for actitivites that can be done in a center without supervision? Thanks! Lillie

We find independent tracing to work with our SPECED. first graders. We start out with tracing paper over their favorite books from home and work our way through the alphabet over the year.
Good Luck :)

How about a language center. The students can record themselves pronouncing letters or word. The can work in simple self-check phonics books.

I am a teacher consultant for Autistic students. The web site I would recommend is
http://members.cox.net/tinsnips/Pages/strategies.html or more simply
tinsnips.org and then click on strategies. There is also a lot of great links to wonderful sites. Room 5 is a link that you may like. I did not catch what age level you will be working with. Julie
