Does anyone know an interesting way to teach classroom spanish? My kids love hands-on activites and games, but I need some new methods. Any suggestions?
The Spanish teacher at our school finds online quizzes to give to the class. She hooks up a video projector and speaker to her computer for this purpose. Since I'm not a Spanish teacher, I can't provide the links, but a Google search should turn up some stuff. :)

In my state we have a resource for downloading video clips. The company that provides this service is UnitedLearning.com . They have videos on most subjects (including foreign language), a quiz bank, teacher guides that go with the videos, pre and post tests, and online testing. Even on a per-teacher cost it was very reasonable (about $200 a year). As I recall, my entire school bought the service the first year for around $1500 (100 teachers). You can download the videos over the internet and show them in class from a CD or hard drive through a video projector, computer terminal, or Averkey connected TV. I have used it for about 5 years now. They have some outstanding programming. Check it out.;)

When I took spanish my teacher had an alphabet song that explained the letters and we had to sing it out loud. It was fun and effective, I still haven't forgotten it. I'm not sure where you could find it, but I'm sure you could search it! Hope that helped!

Anything that invovles listening is more interetin imo, when I took high school french we watched French TV and had to comprehend and do an assignment based on what they were saying. There are also some programs that are more interactive, we used French in Action - which is meant for university, but is great is small doses on the high school level. Also, reading popular books in the language (ie The Little Prince in it's original French)

this is my first time teaching literature to 9º students. I need some ideas to make this class very interesting and dinamic. The form to identify the different terms in a story ( plot, setting, flashback, climax, conflict, and others) I will appreciate all your help and experience in this topic. Oh also activities and how to plan
Thanks a lot

Before you try to teach your students anything, you should first teach yourself how to spell. No offense, but if you can't spell the word dynamic, there's a problem.

Have a classroom picnic and use items that all have a spanish name. Play simple wheel of fortune games also is a lot of fun for the kids. Learning what the words mean and then learning how to spell them, seems to work best. Have a time set aside everyday, where you can receive positive points for speaking only in spanish.
The picnic is fun for older kids, and it teaches them a bit of culture too.
