Hi,

I am a student teacher in phoenix. I need some 7th grade physical and chemical change labs to do in my class. It is so hard finding labs to do that are proven to work. I need help. If anyone can send me ideas or labs that you use in you classroom, via e-mail I would appreciate it greatly!

Hey there,

A very simple experiment that represents a volcanic eruption could be used. I am a first year uni student who used this for a demonstration experiment when I was in grade 8

All you need is vinegar and bicarbinate soda. Put both in a beaker and when they mix, they froth and fiz and spew over the edges of the beaker. The amounts you use depend on how much froth you want. It is great fun and students are able to do it themselves. I added some red food dye to represent 'lava' in the volcano, but thats just an option.

Hope that helps.
