What are some successes and failures of technology in the early elementary school k-2? I will be a first time teacher this year, and I'm just a little nervous.

The success I have had are with:
PowerPoint presentations- It really helps kids speak in public and helps them organize their thoughts.
Web Quests- They are the perfect on-line lesson that never fails as long as they are interesting to the kids.

Having worked with teachers to integrate technology for the past 8 years, my best advice is to keep it simple. Computer skills tie nicely into language arts- K- learning letters, 1st- making words, matching sounds and pictures, 2nd- writing. I set up a website as part of a graduate project that has lessons I've shared and created for the teachers in my district. I have some grade level guides, posters, tutorials and such that may be of help. The site is http://www.teachingntechnology.com.
