Hello,

My name is Marie. I'm doing a survey for my elementary education class. I had to come up with five questions to ask any ele. ed. teacher. The purpose of this mini assignment is to help me understand what a typical elementary teacher faces in the classroom each day. Hopefully you're answers will help me. Please feel free to make side comments or suggestions. Thanks :)

1. How did you decide to become an elementary teacher?

2. Are you pleased with your decision to become an elementary teacher?

3. What activities take up most of your time in the classroom?

4. What are the major "headaches" of teaching elementary children?

5. What satisfies you most about teaching elementary age children?

I'm sorry, I am not an elementary education teacher, so I can't answer your question, but I couldn't resist this one....

Lisa....where's your response to this? ..... Oh, wait....we all know what it is: A survey on here is not acceptable because you can't prove that the survey takers are who they say they are and blah, blah, blah!!!!!!

The latest poster had it right, it is just a few questions... a survey. The other post I complained about was meant to accumulate data for published research, which requires far more oversight of the sampling. Big difference.

yeah I'm just trying to get opinions...this isn't going to end up in publication or anything, in fact, I don't need names I just need a general overview of what teachers think about this profession and why they're in it. Thanks for clearing it up Lisa :)
