Hello, I'm developing a lesson plan on ecosystems for eight graders beginning ESL students. I need to introduce a picture or visual vocabulary by using computer technology. Any creative ideas to make it a nice smooth learning experience for these kids?
Thanks. :)

Ecosystems is a vast topic. Could you narrow it down?

I suggest you look at the site merlot.org.

Thank you for replying, this is an introduction to an ecosystem of the rain forest (Amazon from South America). I would like to use computer integration during class to show a visual vocabulary (living things, non-living things, once-living things). Any ideas? Thanks.

How do you plan to use the computer? If it is to show pictures, you can do that with an overhead projector. So I guess I am still fuzzy on what you are seeking.

Hello again, and thank you in advance for replying.
I have been using an overhead projector to display science visual vocabulary at the beginning of my lectures. However, my principal requested that all the teachers in my school should use innovated ideas on how to incorporate computer software during a teacher's lecture.
I would like to use the power point software to build the visual vocabulary, but I don't know how/where to dowload this type of template. Any ideas?
Thanks, bw Queens, N.Y.

Send an email with your request to wish2teachu@yahoo.com. He came in this forum earlier seeking teachers needing free PowerPOint slides. He could probably do the whole thing for you.

Here's the thread:
