How should I start building my library!?!?

I'm a student at Arizona State currently finishing up my classes. I haven't even student taught yet but am already thinking about building a classroom library. I know that grade level is important to know when considering this, but I feel a good picture book is great for any elementary grade. I would love for some ideas on how to go about getting started with this without spending a lot of money.....i'm broke you know!:) Thanks!

You should check out public libraries, sometimes they have great, huge and cheap book sales!

I've bought lots of GREAT slightly used books at garage sales, thrift stores and eBay.

Go to yard sales and beg them to let you have the books for free. Dress like you are really poor and the books will start a coming!
